所謂低成就資優生指在資質確屬優異,但其學業成就卻低於其智力應有的水準者;其評定方式以迴歸預法來評定。由於其學習困難原因非智力的因素,作者茲將國內外研究,發現影響其學業成就有以下因素:(1)家庭因素:父親職業與父母教育程度。(2)父母管教態度。此類低成就資優生的心理特質有:自我觀念消極、抱負水準不切實際、人格適應欠佳、道德判斷成熟度較底等現象。輔導低成就資優生必須針對其形成因素,做有效的改進,大致有下列步聚:(1)著重形成性與診斷性的評量。(2)實施個別診斷。(3)由學校提供優良的學習環境。(4)實施親職教育。(5)採用啟發性教學法和較民主的訓育方式。
