本文是對SMPY教學模式之介紹;其鑑定對象為國小畢業生或初中一、二年級學 生,以「二階法」來評估。而教學型態則採取特殊班教學和個別化教學兩種;其中個別化教學宜採取診斷測驗和處方教學(PT-PI) 並用。至於評鑑方面,文中以流程圖顯示,但兩種教學型態之差異在於(PT-PI) 以最初診斷測驗結果為決定個別化教學的基 礎,而非全班教學的起點。在師資選聘方面則列出七項必備條件和六項應具技術,並附材料選擇之注意事項。最後,作者以Stanl-ey對我國資優教育建議作結論:(一) 修訂或發展數理資優生鑑定的測驗工具;(二)辦理數理方面的大型競賽。
