Despite the numerous face-to-face training programs available in the Philippines, microenterprises still faced an issue of lacking a standard process for conducting training programs tailored to the needs of microenterprise owners and their employees. This lack of process prevented consistent motivation of microenterprise owners and employees, and hindered the effective transfer of training. Given the challenges in accessing training that truly addressed their specific needs due to the unique nature of these businesses, this study explored the implementation and practices of training programs using an effective training model. The goal was to increase motivation to attend and to ensure the sustainability of training through transfer strategies that could be applied to their actual work. This qualitative study simultaneously adopted both a case study and action research methodology, using interviews, document analysis, and observation. In the case study, the research clearly identified the importance of having a more tailored, structured framework, such as the ADDIE Model, in designing and delivering training programs. The study compared this structured approach with the existing practices of how training was conducted. Additionally, the action research component focused on how training could facilitate the transfer of knowledge among microenterprises by implementing a series of three interventions. The researcher suggested that the motivation of microenterprise owners and employees had a significant influence on the transfer of training to their actual work. Microenterprise owners and employees preferred training that was short, practical, on-the-spot, and conducted onsite. These are proposed to the trainers and owners to ensure that tailored training programs are specifically structured and implemented for microenterprises. It also contributes to introducing an adapted ADDIE model as a foundation theory in microenterprise training and adds to the existing literatures on trainings and offering additional insights they could facilitate transfer of training. Keywords: microenterprises, training programs, ADDIE Model, transfer of trainingen_US
