zh_TW
This dissertation employs the concept of Sharp Power to examine the Chinese Communist Party’s united‐front strategies targeting Taiwanese youth. Using social‐media text analysis and case studies of cross‐Strait exchange programs, it investigates how these activities shape young Taiwanese people’s cultural identification with China, political perceptions, and career intentions. First, it maps the organizational structure and historical evolution of PRC united‐front work toward Taiwan, and classifies youth exchanges into short‐term visits and long‐term internships, highlighting differences in objectives, operational modes, and degrees of influence. Building on this foundation, the study deconstructs specific Sharp Power techniques—such as leveraging high‐profile corporate internships, entrepreneurial bases, and cultural site tours to showcase Chinese governance and modernization, alongside the emotional appeal of idol culture and variety programs. By comparing self‐reported experiences and online posts of Taiwanese interns across diverse Chinese industries, the research uncovers a three‐tiered model of infiltration—sensory impact, emotional linkage, and value transformation—and demonstrates how media framing, cultural discourse, and event‐driven narratives interact to influence youths’ attitudes toward China and their future planning. Findings reveal that while some participants develop positive views of China’s development and consider employment there, many reaffirm their appreciation for Taiwan’s pluralistic freedoms. The dissertation concludes with recommendations for future research integrating identity politics and social capital theories, and calls attention to the propaganda potential of short‐video platforms, influencers, and idol groups within contemporary network culture.en_US
