Abstract
Creators naturally express their emotions and perspectives on life through their native language and familiar surroundings, weaving them into melodies and lyrics. A key aspect of record production is understanding the artist’s artistic and repertoire (A&R) direction. The author’s debut album, The Kite of Kamalan, released in 2020, earned a nomination for Best Taiwanese Male Singer at the 32nd Golden Melody Awards, solidifying the singer’s identity and style. Building on this foundation, the second album continues to reflect the singer’s personal experiences, drawing inspiration from unique moments in daily life. The production process involves arranging, recording, and mixing the selected songs, followed by mastering to achieve an overall balance across all tracks. The completed album will then be released in both digital and physical formats. Staying true to the album’s life-inspired theme, the music videos will portray real stories of ordinary people, employing realistic filming techniques to maintain authenticity and avoid excessive embellishment. The project "People Like Us" takes a Taiwanese album organized by graduate students as an example to analyze the planning, songwriting, music production process, and album design. The album features ten songs that reflect the cultures of different ethnic groups in Taiwan, with new arrangements interpreting various themes. It presents the processes of music planning, creation, production, design, and distribution, and includes summarization and analysis within the text.
