dc.description.abstract | The writers of this paper aim to aid stakeholders in understanding to what extent childdirected speech improves the hearing and learning skills of hearing-impaired children. To this end, we first provide a description of the features of child-directed speech, followed by a discussion of its impact on typical child development. Finally, several intervention strategies utilizing child-directed speech are introduced and reviewed in detail in order to promote language development in children with hearing loss. | en_US |
