成為「台北女子」?——非雙北成長女性的解讀、協商與實踐

Abstract

本研究以2022年台劇《台北女子圖鑑》為出發點,探討劇中對「台北」與「台北女子」的形象再現,並描繪現實中非雙北成長女性在此場域中的解讀與實踐。作為跨國在地化的文本,該劇播出後引發廣泛討論與批評,顯現出理想化敘事的局限和文本再現的矛盾與不足。同時,也映照出台北場域的複雜性和「台北女子」身分的區判需求。研究問題聚焦於三層面:(1)  劇中如何再現「台北」與「台北女子」的形象?這些再現如何反映地方與性別敘事?(2)  現實中的非雙北成長女性,如何解讀劇中的「台北」再現?她們如何回應並實踐場域經驗?(3)她們如何解讀劇中「台北女子」形象?如何採取實踐策略,在場域中協商此身分?研究方法上,首先採取文本分析法,針對劇中靜態及動態影像進行分析。其次,藉由深度訪談法,以12名非雙北成長、但生活於台北的女性作為核心研究對象,並輔以4位雙北成長女性作為場域內部參照。本研究採取Hall(1980, 1997)所提出的「編碼/解碼模式」與再現理論,分析《台北女子圖鑑》中「台北」與「台北女子」的意義建構,並探討行動者對此再現的解讀與回應策略。同時援引Bourdieu(1984, 1986, 1990)有關「場域」、「資本」與「慣習」和「實踐」的理論架構,剖析行動者在場域中的策略。研究發現,《台北女子圖鑑》的「台北」與「台北女子」大致再現真實,但也具局限,無法多元呈現地方與性別的敘事。相較之下,現實中非雙北成長女性普遍默認「台北」與「台北女子」的象徵資本,但是多以協商式解讀回應,展現更多元的實踐策略。行動者具有能動性,並非被動接受或抗拒,而是採取協商策略,調整自身在場域內的位置及對「台北女子」身分的認同,體現象徵資本的動態性。本研究貢獻在於透過影像文本再現與現實場域中行動者經驗,指出「台北女子」並非靜態身分,而是一個持續的實踐過程,體現場域與行動者互動的結果。
This study takes the 2022 Taiwanese drama Women in Taipei as a starting point to explore its representations of “Taipei” and the “Taipei woman,” and examines how non-Taipei women interpret and negotiate these representations within this Taipei field in real life. As a localized transnational text, the series triggered public criticism and debate, revealing contradictions in its idealized narrative and the limitations of its gendered and place representations.The research addresses three questions: (1) How are “Taipei” and the “Taipei woman” portrayed in the drama, and how do these representations reflect discourses of place and gender? (2) How do non-Taipei women interpret and respond to these representations in relation to their own field experiences? (3) How do they negotiate the identity of “Taipei woman” through everyday practice?Methodologically, the study combines textual analysis of the drama’s visual content with in-depth interviews with 12 non-Taipei women living in Taipei, supplemented by 4 Taipei- raised women as internal field references. Theoretically, it draws on Hall’s (1980, 1997) encoding/decoding model and representation theory, as well as Bourdieu’s (1984, 1986, 1990) concepts of field, capital, habitus, and practice to analyze the dynamics between media, field, and identity.Findings suggest that while the drama’s portrayals reflect certain social realities, they fail to capture the diversity of gender and place experiences. In contrast, non-Taipei women often recognize the symbolic capital associated with the “Taipei woman,” yet mostly adopt negotiated readings and flexible practices. Rather than passively conforming, they reposition themselves through ongoing negotiation, illustrating identity as a fluid and strategic process shaped by the field.This study contributes to cultural studies by linking media representation and lived experience, and by foregrounding place–gender intersections in field-based identity practices.
